Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan
A brief but arresting, and uplifting novella about doing the right thing without fanfair.
Set in a small Irish town in 1985 when the Catholic laundries still existed.
Start your new year on a positive note.

Assembly by Natasha Brown
Remarkable writing talent here. A short but a piercing look at what we surrender to exert control over our lives. Brown edits out any unnecessary verbiage in this crisp, scathing work on race, sex, and class.

Twenty Years Later by Charlie Donlea
For a complete change of pace, try this suspense novel. Though I thought I had it all figured out, it got me in the end! Easy to read and engaging story of a TV reporter seeking a huge story while hiding in plain sight from her scandal ridden past. A fun read and also good as an Audible.
